Gray Water tank reads 1/3 full when empty

We just took our 2006 Jag (25JQ) out for a couple days in the Idaho mountains and noticed before we left that the gray water tank was registering 1/3 full. I was positive I had drained the tank after our last outing but since we were staying in a State Park where there was no sewer hookups at our site we ran it through the dump station before pulling into our site. When I dumped the gray water there was VERY LITTLE water that came out, and even after that the gauge still registered 1/3 full.
Any ideas?

RE: Electric Power Jacks

One inexpensive option is putting your existing jacks up and down with a cordless power drill. I use my Makita and it works slick. :)

Campgrounds or RV Parks around San Francisco and Modesto

Hey everyone!
We're going to be around San Francisco and also Modesto Cali at the end of this month and need to figure out some places to stay with our 25 foot TT. I've been searching online. Prefer a place near SF that will allow us to drive into the city and look around. (Kids have never seen it.)
Thanks a lot!

RE: California Hiway 101 Leggett, CA to San Francisco?

Thanks for the replies. I actually DID mean 101 and considered that the "coast" from the standpoint of being close enough. :) I think we'll steer clear of HW1 and go on 101.
Thanks again!

California Hiway 101 Leggett, CA to San Francisco?

We're looking at driving down the California coast from Leggett, CA to San Francisco, and I was curious what I could expect in terms of road conditions and pulling a 25 foot TT.
Thanks in advance!

RE: Our summer trip 2008

After you leave Crater Lake take 62 to Medford 62 runs in to I5 you don't need to go into town at all. Your program has you going in circles in town. As you are getting closer to I 5 you will see Lowe's & WM get in the right lane ( you have 2 miles to I5 ) take the north ramp to Grants Pass get off at ext. 55 and go to 199 to the coast.
Thanks for the directions! I appreciate it!

RE: Our summer trip 2008

The map was created using Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007. We charted our trip first, laying out several scenarios, then when we had our final itinerary, I just clicked FILE and Save As a Web Page...
Pretty slick! :)

Our summer trip 2008

Hello everyone!
I've created a map of our upcoming 2008 Vacation. It's going to be just under 2,400 miles, starting from Ontario, Oregon, (top of the map where you see the green box with 1,15) and traveling to Crater Lake, Oregon, and then down the California coast to San Francisco, and then down to Murrieta, south of Los Angeles. The trip home will be via Las Vegas and the incredibly exciting scenery of Nevada (tongue firmly in cheek). We will travel for about 12 or 13 days.
I wanted to make this map so that those of who who have traveled these ways might be able to share some sight-seeing tips. We're pretty aware of what there is to see in Southern California, but any suggestions along the CA coast would be more than welcome.
Thanks in advance!

RE: My TT "mini" project

Wow!! That last picture of the exterior is nothing short of amazing!! I can't wait to see the interior when you finish. Those kinda projects give me the shakes, so I'm glad there are some folks who have the patience and ability that you obviously do. Go for it!!

RE: Small TT, screen room

If you let us know where you live, I'm sure a few of us larger-sized fellas wouldn't mind popping over to your place and roughing up your husband a little until he agrees to buy you a bigger trailer. ;)

RE: How does a reg. car pull a trailer?Do you have any Pics?

My dad hauled our family of 6 around in a station wagon while pulling a 15 foot TT. This was in the 1960s and my recollection was that we overheated a LOT! :)

RE: Gas prices changing your camping plans?

Wow! I guess these questions hit a nerve. Thanks for the all replies.
Like many of you, we're sticking closer to home (except for one 1000 mile trip) and will camp and RV within 2.5 hours of home. Fortunately living on the eastern edge of Oregon we have wonderful options right here close to home. (Especially the Idaho mountains.)
Thanks again!

Gas prices changing your camping plans?

Gas prices are unbelievable!
I am curious if the rise in fuel prices have caused any of you to cut back on the number of trips you were planning to take for this camping season, OR perhaps the distance you would have otherwise traveled.

For example, NONE of the people with maps on their sigs have been camping in my home state of Oregon. :)

RE: Tire question

Folks- I had 2 tires slashed on the left side of my trailer last night-
Tires aside, I'm sorry to hear about your trouble. Slashing AND spray painting?? Yikes. I hope the damage wasn't too extensive and you're up and running again soon.

Any home-made ideas for reducing jiggling in trailer?

I've seen some add-ons that claim to reduce or even eliminate movement inside the trailer, which is particularly noticeable at night when people are moving around, but I was curious if anyone had discovered a home-made remedy. I have four stabilizer jacks, but at bedtime we still feel jiggling. I know that SOME of that is normal, but with all the resourceful folk on this forum I figured SOMEone had come up with an inexpensive solution. :)
